An alluring image of a female with elegant coiffure and classic Tabwa facial scarifications. The half figure was probably attached to the top of a calabash. A tip of an animal horn was inserted into the head in order to 'feed' the figure and keep it 'charged'. From the D.R.Congo, early 20th century, 11.25"H x 3" W. Fine condition with dark, oily, shiny, aged patina. Private collection, FL, since the 1980's
